What’s unanswered and what’s changed at Paleo Diet Foods since we were featured on “Shark Tank”?
Some important features of The Paleo Diet Bar were left on the cutting room floor and did not appear in our episode of Shark Tank. Also, there have been many changes since our initial meeting with the Sharks in September 2014.
Ingredients and energy balance:

The bars are made up of just fruit, nuts, seeds, berries, egg white protein and also hemp protein to promote digestibility and also immunity. We have almost equal energies of the carbs, fat and protein in the bars, all of which equate to a well balanced ‘meal on the go.’
The expert in this field, Dr. Loren Cordain, who also endorses our product, has no issue with the content of the bars; in fact, he only agreed to endorse the bars because of the attributes the bar contains.
Sugar content:
One of the topics we’d like to address is the sugar question. This topic wasn’t explained on TV like it was in person during our 50-minute meeting. The sugar content is NATURAL from the fruit in the product. There is no added sugar or sweeteners.
Preservatives:
We don’t have any preservatives in our products either. The natural sugar IS THE preservative and helps stabilize the product to have a sufficient shelf life and keep the water activity down. We have a year shelf life on the product, a requirement for almost all distributors and grocery outlets.
New and improved flavors:
Our first two varieties, which have a gym and Crossfit theme, have also been tweaked since our meeting to enhance the flavor and increase fiber content and were launched into the marketplace earlier this year.
We have prototypes for the three new varieties we are launching within the next few months. The logo/branding of these will appeal to the outdoor adventurer…trail running and hiking. These new bars will also have pumpkin seed protein and sunflower protein.
Distribution:
Our distribution has widened vastly and the velocity within that distribution has increased exponentially. We are carried in the entire Southern California Whole Foods Market region, many Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage and if we aren’t in there yet, we will be going into Dierberg’s, Heinens, Akin’s, Chamberlin’s and Ralph’s. We are also in about 500 other brick and mortar independent grocery stores across the country, including Hawaii and Alaska! We are also distributed internationally through Global Distribution Group.
