Our Story
Shauna and Todd Sledge
The Paleo Diet Bar for Paleo Braaap, LLC is a husband/wife owned company launched in Fort Collins, CO October 2013.
Beginnings
Hard work, sweat, tears, and laughter combined fueled the fire behind product development for The Paleo Diet™ Bar. It began with The Paleo Diet Bar’s sister company, Braaap Nutrition, LLC.
Spending countless hours in a commercial kitchen week after week, we created the Braaap Nutrition Formula, a matchless solution, balanced with clean, quality ingredients. Shuffling the revolutionary formula of the Honey Graham, Chocolate Chip, Cranberry, and Blueberry varieties from Northern Colorado to the Denver-metro area for packaging, the finish line was within reach.
Eager and excited, together, we began to approach vendors for mass distribution. Our efforts did not go unnoticed. Gluten, soy, and preservative free with all natural energy sourced from coconut oil and Colorado honey, Braaap Nutrition Bars acquired national distribution. From nutritional offices, grocery stores, coffeehouses, bicycle and motorsports shops, Max Muscle Sports Nutrition® and REI,® Braaap has cast its net wide to jumpstart outdoor enthusiasts and adventure junkies.
Today
Engrained in the health and wellness and CrossFit communities with an affinity for the Paleo lifestyle, we realized the widespread demand for gluten and dairy-free products. We sought to bring a product to market that was not only developed with Paleo ingredients, but adhered to The Paleo Diet ™ premise. In our book, there has never been room for second guessing and our goal is for you to be confident in The Paleo Diet™ Bar, where you’re never questioning “is it really Paleo.”
We were fortunate to meet and partner with Dr. Loren Cordain, the world’s leading expert and founder of the Paleolithic movement to develop a gluten, soy, dairy, and preservative free nutrition bar. Six months in Research & Development and 500 pounds of raw material later The Paleo Diet Bar was born. Comprised of equal parts carbohydrates, proteins, and healthful fats we were able to create yet another unparalleled and delicious formula that stood by the science Dr. Cordain dedicated his life to researching to improve the lives of individuals all over the world.
As we grow, we are dedicated to producing optimal eats for the hunter-gatherer lifestyle by combining the finest all-natural ingredients to strike the tastiest balance without compromising nutritional value. Our ongoing commitment is to consistently produce and supply superior nutrition and to uphold the principles of The Paleo Diet™.

Todd & Shauna
Shauna Sledge is the President and Co-Founder of Paleo Braaap, LLC. She leads recipe development, sales, and distribution. She has been in the fitness industry for over 14 years and is also a Group Fitness Instructor, part-time dental hygienist, and CrossFit Trainer. From hiking Mt. Kilimanjaro to serving in the Peace Corps in Mongolia, mountain and road biking, to devising the healthiest culinary creations, health and wellness is her prerogative. In her free time, Shauna competes in long distance running and biking events. She and Todd have three children, ages 17, 13, and 1.
Todd Sledge is the President and Co-Founder of Paleo Braaap, LLC and leads new business development. Todd is a full-time Realtor, biking enthusiast and an adrenaline junkie racing motocross, supermoto, jet skiing, and road racing. Nutrition and wellness are rooted in his lifestyle. He and Shauna have three children, ages 17, 13, and 1.
